People everywhere are suffering the impacts of uncontrolled mining and other resource exploitation. Such exploitation destroys agriculture, waterways, and forests while providing little value to the local population.
People who have had their land stolen risk the loss of family livelihoods, houses, and access to drinking water, with very little compensation and very few options.
Thus, efforts are being made by us in the mining, logging, and coastal resource sectors to encourage responsible management and community outreach in resource practices.
We help people in defending their livelihood opportunities, exposing breaches, and developing the skills needed to negotiate with governments and international enterprises.
Furthermore, we work with others in Canada to improve government and corporate responsibility.
