The purpose of food independence and sovereignty is to reform the food supply chain into one that is sustainable, equitable, and in which everyone share decision-making authority.
We at Equality Today believe that food sovereignty answers the issues posed by the agro-industrial paradigm of food manufacturing and trade policies.
To achieve this aim, Equality Today works with farmers’ organizations throughout the world, especially women landowners, to create a more sustainable food system.
We collaborate with groups who practice permaculture principles and aim for food independence.
We also assist farmers’ efforts to conserve agricultural ecosystems and soil and crop diversification. Ultimately, we link local farmers so that they may share expertise and potential solutions.
